We are grateful for the enthusiastic participation and remain committed to supporting our community in building a safer, more resilient future.

SANITARY PADS DISTRIBUTION TO THE LOCAL SCHOOLS

Floods impact on women’s health often goes unseen. Disrupting access to sanitary products and safe private spaces leads to period poverty, exacerbating the challenges women and girls face during emergencies.

Since most of the girls from families affected by floods are already in school, we decided to reach them there.

SASAL team distributed Sanitary towels to girls of Paterson Memorial Secondary School, Oldonyonyokie Girls high school, Oloika Secondary Olkiramatian Primary and Musenke primary school all in Magadi ward, Kajiado County.

All girls received sanitary towels that will last them a full school term (3 months) ensuring they are confident & don’t miss out on any of their classes or compromise on their hygiene by not changing the towels as required due to its unavailability.

FLOOD RESPONSE

Food Distribution to The Community Affected By Floods- Entasopia Location-Kajiado County

As one of  our floods responses, SASAL with the support of the Urgent Action Fund (UAF), we managed to provide relief support in form of dry food supplies, mattresses & beddings to flood-affected families in Entasopia, Magadi ward, Kajiado County.

This comes after River Entasopia broke its banks, forming a completely new & permanent river passing through homesteads, farms, schools & hospitals wrecking a havoc resulting in massive losses and damages.

Through this relief exercise, we reached 100 families 70% of which are women-led. Earlier on, through our social media fundraising campaign, we managed to aid 60 of the same households with food supplies, clothing & sanitary towels!.

We thank all our supporters for enabling us to provide this support to the flood victims and wish the affected a quick transition back to their normal lives! SASAL will continue supporting however we can.
